In The Good Ole Summertime

Hi, Everybody!

I am back to blogging after moving into a new place and studio!

Our May recital was our grand finale to the piano year, and almost everybody was able to be there on  a Thursday night. This gave most students an opportunity to play their well rehearsed repertoire in front of a very friendly audience.

After the wedding of my daughter and reunion with friends and family, I have returned from Maryland and Pennsylvania ready to begin lessons in July. There are plans for a summer recital, to be announced at a later time . Want to brush up on theory, rhythm, note reading, and Festival Preparation?  Summer is a perfect season to both maintain your repertoire and learn new pieces for upcoming festivals, like the Jazz Festival scheduled for November.

New educational free interactive piano apps are available now to make learning fun. Rhythm Cat is a popular app for your counting/rhythm skills. Piano Maestro and Music Tutor are good for sight-reading and rhythm. The Flashnote Derby app is available for androids for $2.99.

I look forward to seeing you soon for more piano fun!

Musically,

Nancy Hansen
